These license terms say what you may do with the files you export from Pegboard Maker and with the objects you print from them. They are part of the terms of service. A plain-language summary is in the licenses guide.
Definitions
- Exported file — any file you download from Pegboard Maker’s export dialog: 3MF, STL, SVG outlines, assembly maps and the README.
- Workflow design — a design you create with one of the four workflows: shaped panels, infinite pegboard, SVG → pegboard or text → pegboard.
- Accessory file — an exported file of an item from the accessory library (hooks, shelves, bins, holders and the like).
- Print — a physical object made from an exported file, by 3D printing or any other process.
- Your tier — the reward tier of your account on the day of the export.

What every tier may do
For every exported file, we grant you a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual license to:
- make prints from it, as many as you like, for yourself, your household and your workplace;
- give prints away as gifts, without payment of any kind;
- show, photograph and film your prints and your designs anywhere, including online.
On the personal license (Basic and Maker) that is all: you may not sell prints, and you may not sell, publish or share exported files.
Commercial — physical prints
On Commercial, you may also sell prints made from your exported files — workflow designs and accessories alike — directly or through shops, markets, marketplaces and commissions, in any quantity.
You may not sell, publish or share the exported files themselves.
Commercial — prints and digital files
On Commercial Plus, you may also sell and distribute the exported files of your workflow designs (STL and 3MF), for example on model marketplaces, as custom designs for clients or as print-ready downloads, under terms of your choosing.
This right does not extend to accessory files.
Accessory files
On every tier, accessory files are licensed for making prints only. You may not sell, share, publish, upload or otherwise distribute accessory files, alone or bundled with other files, on any tier. Where your tier allows selling prints, you may sell prints of accessories.
Artwork, shapes and fonts
- Artwork you upload stays yours or its owner’s. These terms grant no rights in it; you are responsible for having the rights to use it, including in anything you sell.
- Built-in shapes from the SVG library are covered as part of your workflow designs, on the terms of your tier. You may not extract them and distribute them as standalone artwork or as a library.
- Fonts used by the text workflow are open-licensed (SIL Open Font License 1.1 or Apache License 2.0). The letter shapes in your designs are covered by your tier’s license; font files are never included in exports.
Which terms apply to a file
The license that applies to an exported file is the one attached to your tier on the day you exported it. The README and the 3MF metadata of each export record it. Upgrading doesn’t change files you already exported — export again to get files under your new tier. Closing your account or changing tier never takes away a license you already have for exported files.
Limits
- These terms license files and prints, not the Pegboard Maker software, its source code or its accessory library as a whole.
- Don’t present Pegboard Maker’s accessory designs or built-in shapes as your own original work.
- If you seriously break these terms, the license ends for the files concerned, and you must stop using and distributing them.
Warranty
Exported files and prints come without warranty, as set out in the terms of service. You are responsible for checking that what you print and sell is fit for its purpose and complies with the rules that apply to it.
