Pegboard Maker designs pegboards around two things you already own: your wall and your 3D printer. You pick a workflow and a pegboard type, set a few sizes, and the app produces print-ready files — pieces cut to fit your print bed, joints to connect them, wall mounts, colour inlays and an assembly map.
Everything runs in your browser. Heavy geometry is computed in a background worker, so the editor stays responsive, and the print files are generated on your own device.
Four workflows, one engine
Every workflow uses the same geometry engine, so what you learn in one carries over to the others.
| Workflow | What it makes | Included from |
|---|---|---|
| Shaped panels | Square, triangle or hexagon tiles in printed frames, grown one tile at a time. Optional LED rail and keyhole mounts. | Basic |
| Infinite pegboard | A board of any size, sliced into pieces that fit your bed, with joints, wall mounts and separators. | Maker |
| SVG → pegboard | A pegboard in the shape of a built-in shape or your own SVG, with its colours as inlays. | Maker |
| Text → pegboard | Words and names as pegboard panels, one per word or per line. | Maker |
What the app guarantees
These rules hold for every design, in every workflow:
- Holes are never cut. Seams between pieces run through the hole-free corridors between the holes. A hole is either fully inside a piece, with solid material around it, or not there at all.
- Every piece fits your bed — joint features, tabs and mounts included — with the safety margin you set.
- Geometry is watertight. Every part is a closed, manifold solid, so slicers never have to guess.
- Panels print face down. The front face lies on the bed, so colour inlays are the first layers. Multi-colour costs only a few layers of colour changes.
- Designs are recipes. A project is a small set of parameters, so every piece can be regenerated exactly — change one setting and everything that depends on it follows.
What you need
- An invite code. Pegboard Maker is invite-only. Backers receive a code tied to their reward tier — see Invite codes and your account.
- A desktop or laptop browser. A current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. Nothing to install.
- An FDM printer with a bed of at least 180 × 180 mm. Presets cover 180 to 350 mm beds, and you can enter any size.
- A slicer. Multi-colour 3MF files open with colours assigned in Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer and PrusaSlicer. STL works in any slicer.
- Filament. PLA or PETG for most boards. See the printing guide.
- Wall hardware. Typically 4 × 45 mm countersunk screws and 6 mm wall plugs. See the mounting guide.
Tiers at a glance
Your tier decides which workflows you can use, how many exports you get each month and what the license allows. Designing and previewing are unlimited on every tier, and every account can keep up to 500 saved projects.
| Tier | Exports / month | Workflows | Accessory library | License |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | 8 | Shaped panels | Basic subset (≈ ⅓ of each pack) | Personal use |
| Maker | 20 | All four | Full library | Personal use |
| Commercial | 100 | All four | Full library | Commercial — physical prints |
| Commercial Plus | Unlimited | All four | Full library | Commercial — prints and digital files |

A few words you will see
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Piece | One printable object: a panel, a frame, a spline strip, a cap. |
| Part | One colour of a piece. A piece with a colour inlay has two parts that print together. |
| Bed and margin | The printable area of your printer and the free border the app keeps around every piece. |
| Pegboard type | The system your board follows: the capsule system, a classic round-hole board (US 1/4″, US 1/8″, EU 5/25) or Custom. Each type brings its hole pattern, its standard board thickness and standoff, and the way accessories attach. |
| Hole pattern | The layout of holes or slots within a pegboard type: their shape, size and grid. |
| Clearance | Extra size added to every hole so hooks slide in after printing shrinkage. |
| Standoff | The gap between the wall and the back of the board, where hooks hang. It follows the pegboard type: 10 mm on the capsule system, 12.7 mm (½″) on round-hole boards by default. The setting is Wall distance. |
| Inlay | A thin colour layer set into the front face — borders, hole rings, text, artwork. |
| Seam and joint | Where two pieces meet, and how they are held together (glued strip, puzzle tabs or plain butt). |
| Export | One download of print files (3MF, STL or a ZIP of them) or SVG cutting outlines. Counts towards your monthly quota; the assembly map on its own is free. |
