Invite codes and your account

Redeem your backer code, create your account, sign in, reset your password and upgrade to a higher tier.

Pegboard Maker is invite-only. Every backer receives an invite code tied to their reward tier, by email, after the campaign ends. The code creates your account and unlocks your tier; later codes can upgrade that same account.

What a code looks like

Codes look like PBM-7K2Q-9MXD-4HTR-8WVA: the PBM prefix followed by sixteen letters and digits in groups of four. Typing them is forgiving:

  • Upper or lower case, dashes and spaces don’t matter.
  • The PBM- prefix is optional.
  • Letters that are easy to confuse are read as digits: O counts as 0, I and L count as 1.

Each code works once unless your reward says otherwise. Keep it private until you have used it.

Create your account

  1. Open the link in your reward email. It takes you straight to the invite page with the code filled in. You can also open the app, choose Got an invite code? Create your account on the sign-in page, and paste the code.
  2. Check the code. Press Check code. The app confirms which tier the code unlocks and lists what is included.
  3. Choose Create my account. Enter a display name, your email address and a password, then accept the terms of service and the privacy policy.
  4. Confirm your email. We send a confirmation link to the address you entered. Open it and press Confirm email — the extra click stops email security scanners from using the link before you do.
  5. Start designing. You land on the dashboard, signed in, with your tier active.

Password rules

Your password needs at least 10 characters, with at least one lower-case letter, one upper-case letter and one number. A strength meter shows how you are doing; longer passphrases are stronger than clever substitutions.

No confirmation email?

  • Look in your spam or promotions folder.
  • Use Resend email on the “Check your inbox” screen.
  • Email links expire after a while and work only once. If a link says it has expired but you already confirmed, simply sign in.

When a code is not accepted

Message What it means What to do
Invalid No code matches what you typed. Check each group of four characters. Copy and paste from the email if you can.
Expired The code had an end date that has passed. Contact support with the email address you pledged with.
Already used The code has been redeemed the maximum number of times. If you already created your account, just sign in.
Too many attempts Several wrong codes were tried from your network in a short time. Wait about 15 minutes, then try again carefully.

Signing in and out

Sign in with your email and password on the app’s sign-in page. If you forget your password, choose Forgot password?, enter your email and follow the link we send. Reset links expire and work once; choosing a new password signs you out on your other devices.

Sign out is in the account menu (top right) and at the bottom of the Account page. It signs you out on this device only.

Upgrade to a higher tier

If you receive a code for a higher tier — for example after adding to your pledge — redeem it on the account you already have:

  • Go to Account → Redeem an upgrade code, enter the code and press Redeem, or
  • open the invite link while you are signed in and choose Redeem as upgrade.

The upgrade applies immediately, including a higher export limit for the current month. Your projects and settings stay exactly as they are. A code is only used when it actually raises your tier: a code for your current tier, or a lower one, is left untouched.

Your account page

Open Account from the sidebar or the account menu. It has everything about you in one place:

  • Profile — your display name. Your sign-in email can be changed by support.
  • Plan — your tier, monthly exports, workflows, accessory library and what your license allows.
  • Usage — exports used this month and the date the quota resets.
  • Redeem an upgrade code.
  • Preferences — language (also used for the emails we send you) and colour theme.
  • Password — change it by entering your current password and the new one; other sessions are signed out. If you signed in a while ago, we may also email you a confirmation code to enter.
  • Your data — download all your projects as one JSON file.
  • Sign out.

The language you pick with the switch on this website is also used when you open the app.
